Jesus is four inches from the face of a woman with her eyes closed

Christians receive the Holy Spirit in His fullness when they receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit and in God’s healing.

Acts 9:32-35 describes a man paralyzed for eight years whom Peter healed. As a result, all who lived at Lydda and Sharon turned to the Lord. Let us consider five types of healing in their order of importance. How many of them have you experienced?

1.     God heals relationships. They should be affirming, building, happy, and exalting. God wants to restore your relationships that are less than ideal.

2.     God heals memories. Others have injured you and vice versa. These memories can make you limp through life. You need the Lord’s healing hand to finish your race— free from their crippling domination.

3.     God heals emotional distress. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people all over the world experienced increased fear, anxiety, depression, and thoughts of suicide. You need the Lord’s healing hand to cope. Cast your cares on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

4.     God heals physical and spiritual sickness. Peter raised Tabitha from the dead in Joppa. As a result, many believed in the Lord (Acts 9:42). Destructive relationships, unhealed memories, and emotional distress caused as much as 80% of physical problems.

5.     God heals destructive habits. You must tap God’s healing power if your willpower cannot overcome them.

God sometimes sends visions to lead people in His ways. In Acts 10, God gave a vision to a Gentile named Cornelius. He told him to send men to Joppa to call for Simon Peter.

Meanwhile, God used another vision to prepare Peter for these visitors. These visions prepared Jewish Christians to accept Gentile Christians as their equals.

God heals sick churches. Imagine your church is packed out every worship service. Members minister to the hurting, lead people to Christ, and help new converts grow spiritually.

The sweet smell of agape love perfumes the air. God’s power can make that vision a reality.

God reveals His power when you praise Him. People close to you pay attention to what you praise.

You influence them to use your brand of toothpaste by praising it. When you praise God in others’ presence, they are more likely to worship Him.

You are God’s walking, talking commercial. Make it the absolute best you can! What is your takeaway?

God has empowered me to write His Power for Your Weakness—260 Steps Toward Spiritual Strength. It’s a free, evangelistic, devotional, and discipleship e-book. Pastors have used it in Malawi, Mozambique, and Zambia to lead 6,090 people to Christ and teach the basics of Christianity to 15,150 people. I invite you to explore and use it in your setting.
