Summary
The article explains a simple gospel presentation used in social media outreach: two truths to know and two responses to make. All people are sinners, but Jesus paid the penalty through His death and resurrection. Individuals must repent and invite Christ into their lives. Social media outreach reveals strong global openness to the gospel, especially in nations where religion remains highly valued, creating new opportunities to share the message of salvation.
Social Media Questions About Faith and Peace
I have boosted social media blogs for seven years. Since May of 2025, I have boosted “Why True Peace Is Found Only Through Jesus Christ” on Meta.1 Beginning February 12, 2026, I boosted it on Instagram. Immediately, I received messages with several different questions. Some asked, “What is the relationship between peace and faith in God?” Some asked, “How can I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior?” Others asked, “Can you explain how Jesus brings us peace with God?”
A Simple Way to Understand the Gospel
I share this summary of the gospel with each person:
2 things to know + 2 things to do = Eternal Life + Peace with God
The First Thing to Know: Everyone Is a Sinner
The first thing to know is that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 says that we are all sinners and have fallen short of God's glory, which is His infinite perfection in all He does and is. Another way to say that is that you can't stand beside Jesus and measure up to his moral and spiritual height. That's a big deal. Romans 6:23 says the penalty for falling short of that standard is death. You have a problem.
The Second Thing to Know: Jesus Paid the Penalty
The second thing to know is that Jesus died on the cross in your place and for your benefit (Romans 5:8). God showered His unmerited favor upon you and did more than you could ever reasonably expect. God, in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ, took your place and paid your death penalty (1 Corinthians 15:4). He was buried and rose from the dead to prove that God is satisfied with His payment on your behalf. Justice has been served. The penalty is paid in full. The guiltless took the place of the guilty.
The First Thing to Do: Repent
The first thing to do is to turn from living life according to your values, priorities, and agenda. The U-turn to go God's way is what the Bible calls repentance. To repent is to acknowledge that you have been going in the wrong direction and now want to go in the right direction. In Mark 1:15, Jesus commands us to repent and believe the good news (that He died in our place on the cross, was buried, and rose from the dead).
The Second Thing to Do: Invite Jesus into Your Life
The second thing to do is to open the door of your life to Jesus and invite Him to come in and take the driver's seat of your life. He promises that if you open the door, He will come in (Revelation 3:20). He always keeps His promises. Those who receive Him into their lives become children of God (John 1:12).
A Prayer Expressing Faith in Christ
You can open the door to Him by the following prayer, which has no magic words but merely expresses the attitude of a heart that is willing to go God's way: LORD JESUS, THANK YOU FOR DYING ON THE CROSS IN MY PLACE AND TAKING MY SIN, DEATH, AND JUDGMENT UPON YOURSELF. I OPEN THE DOOR OF MY LIFE TO YOU. I WANT YOU TO COME INTO MY LIFE AND TAKE CONTROL. THANK YOU FOR FORGIVING MY SINS AND MAKING ME A CHILD OF GOD. I WANT TO BE LIKE YOU. AMEN.

A Global Opportunity to Fish for Men
I do not promote my blog in the USA, but in India, the Philippines, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, and Zambia. None of the responders is an American.
I doubt that I had six people ask me how to be saved in 37 years of pastoral ministry in the USA. On Instagram, between March 13 and 17, 2026, more than 100 people asked the three previously mentioned questions. I have no way of knowing whether those who ask are sincere. But their questions allow me to share a summary of the gospel.
The fields are ripe for harvest (John 4:35) in many parts of the world, and people are far more responsive to the gospel than in the USA, where only 51 percent of people think religion is important. By contrast, the percentages of those who think religion is important in the countries where I am boosting the blog are India (85), the Democratic Republic of Congo (94), Nigeria (89), the Philippines (94), Zambia (97), and Malawi (99).2
I invite you to use my summary of the gospel, picture, and blog, and to boost the latter, and join me in fishing for men (and women) on Instagram.
